A slow dance

Through a looking glass rear vision mirror

Was driving down the road this morning having just gone through a roundabout.
Looked in the rear vision mirror to be greeted by a Mitsubishi Pajero come around behind me in the right hand lane, to then appear to start and hold a left hand turn, into the left hand lane, off the road and tipping up on it's side.  Was all a bit disturbing to witness really.

People were instantly on the scene trying to work out what had happened and the first responders were not far away.

What is the narrative here?

Given these brief facts one is left wondering what really happened.

• Some kind of medical incident—once the turn was initiated it appeared to be constant.
• Cell phone or other distractions?  Wouldn't have thought so as there appeared to be no attempt at corrective action.
• Mechanical failure—again it was decidedly smooth, a bit like watching a graceful turn on ice.

I'm still thinking about this several hours later.  I hope things worked out OK for the driver and any passengers.  A sobering and thought provoking start to the day.
